The Ravens Chant turns Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven into dark gothic rap about grief, insomnia, and the echo of a single word that will not let you heal. Cinematic piano, thunder, and choirs score a sleepless descent as the mind circles loss and the bird’s Nevermore becomes a voice inside your own head.

Lyrics

"The Raven's Chant:

Once upon a midnight dreary, shadows crawling slow,
Rain drumming patterns on the window, sorrow’s undertow.
Books and memories blurring, pages torn and worn,
Chamber cold as secrets, hollow and forlorn.

Every heartbeat haunted, silence at the door
I call her name (“Lenore…”) but I hear nothing more.
The wind at the glass, the storm in my veins,
Night full of questions, love laced with pain.

Lightning flickers, wisdom cracks,
Hope is fading, can’t turn back.
Chill in the spirit, fire in the veins
Lost in the echo of never-changing rain.

Quoth the Raven: “Nevermore!”
Midnight black—shadows on the floor.
From the door to the ceiling,
Madness and grief revealing.
Quoth the Raven: “Nevermore!”
Heart is captive, mind’s at war.
Will the silence ever free me?
Quoth the Raven: “Nevermore!”

He perches above, cold as a stone
Eyes reflecting every sorrow I own.
I beg for redemption, for peace in the night,
But the answers are hollow, wings black as the sky.

“Take thy beak from out my heart!” I plead
But the pain stays throbbing, memory that won’t concede.
The lamp throws long shadows, my soul on the floor
Grief and obsession close every last door.

Darkness thickens, mind unravels,
Reason lost as thunder travels.
Whispered voices, broken calls,
Answers drift down empty halls.

Quoth the Raven: “Nevermore!”
Midnight black—shadows on the floor.
Doors and windows wide revealing
How despair becomes a feeling.
Quoth the Raven: “Nevermore!”
Heart is captive, mind’s at war.
Can there be a dawn to see me?
Quoth the Raven: “Nevermore!”

No balm in Gilead, no morning’s light,
Dreams dissolve in endless night.
A shadow falling, spirit drained and sore,
Hope’s a ghost behind my chamber door.

Quoth the Raven: “Nevermore."
